Both high-tech and traditional on display at showcase of hot holiday toys
TORONTO — Both high-tech and traditional items are on the list of must-haves heading into the busiest shopping season of the year.
The Canadian Toy Association showcased more than 120 products at its sixth annual “Hot Toys for the Holidays” event today. Spokesman Harold Chizick says the hot item this season is Bakugan Battle Brawlers, a skill and action game based on a television show.
The game combines classic marble play with the strategic gameplay of cards.
In addition to traditional puzzles and board games, there were toys to appeal to the more tech-savvy.
They included a buildable roller-coaster that allows kids to turn on the music player to create their own mix of tunes and effects, or plug in their own MP3s for music selections.
